Get started with us

Start with a Yarn (initial consultation)

We understand the taking the step to seek speech pathology support is a significant one. To help you feel comfortable with it (and with us) we start our partnership with a 30 min yarn to get to know one another. You can expect to meet your speech pathologist, receive some general advice then time to think before any formal commitments are made.

Yarning is an Aboriginal English word meaning “an informal conversation or storytelling in a culturally safe environment.”

Get Deep and Meaningful (Assessment session)

Once we know and understand each other, the next step is to get in deep with a detailed assessment & report plan. An assessment plan typically comprises of an indepth case history, a series of informal and formal ‘tests’ and a follow up discussion of the results and report. The speech pathologist will advise on the best approach for the assessment, and with your consent, will implement them with your (or your child). The length of time required for assessments is individual. They are typically completed over several sessions.

Assessments will also be completed at the end of a period of intervention to monitor progress and inform the ongoing plan.

Embark on the path to growth (therapy intervention)

You are ready to commit to a path of growth. With all the details we know about you and what you want to achieve, a tailored therapy plan is designed for you.

Our therapy plans are person centred, goal oriented and implemented in partnership with you. We believe, the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it. It’s up to us to help you get there.
