Frequently asked questions.
Can I use my NDIS or Health Care Plan for services?
We are registered medicare providers and can support you with your Chronic Disease Management Health Care Plan (CHCP). A CHCP gives you access to up to 5 subsidised appointments of approximately $65 rebate per appointment. The rebate only applies to the approval period set by the GP. We recommend you speak to your GP first before accessing services.
We accept NDIS funded clients who are self managed or plan managed. Unfortunately we cannot accept NDIA managed clients. All new NDIS clients must have their funding secured before services are started to avoid paying out of pocket expenses.
How do I claim my Medicare Rebates?
Once a CHCP is approved, a copy must be provided to The Speechie Crew. Payment for an appointment must be received in full to receive a receipt that can be used to access your rebate.
It is the responsibility of to the client’s parent/guardian to:
ensure all information is accurate on the CHCP
provide a copy of the CHCP to The Speechie Crew prior to the appointment
Apply for medicare rebates (e.g. My Gov / Medicare) independently
The Speechie Crew is not responsible for the outcome of Medicare rebate applications.
How do I pay for appointments?
Upon beginning services, all of our clients are provided a service agreement that clearly outlines the fee, payment structure and timelines for payments.
In a nut shell:
Private paying clients (out of pocket) must pay at the time of the appointment. A receipt is provided when payment is received.
NDIS clients are invoiced for services received and given 1-2 weeks for payment
We trust our clients to take responsibility of ensuring invoices are paid on time. If there are any problems with payments, please discuss it with us asap by emailing info@thespeechiecrew.com.au.
Repeated delays with payments and overdue notices may result in possible cancellation of services and legal repercussions
Cancellations
We know you are committed, just as much as we are, and want to avoid cancellations as much as possible. In the event the speech pathologist cannot attend, they will notify the client via their preferred method of communication asap.
We ask all our clients to provide 48 hours notice of the scheduled appointment for any cancellations to avoid late cancellation fees of 50% hourly rate. Cancellations within 24 hours and non shows will incur a 100% appointment fee.
